Ragged and Real
2 day class
This class starts with building your background with strips (torn and/or cut) of fabric fused to a backing. This background is straight stitch machine quilted. After background is built, a realistic foreground subject is fused and free motion quilted down. All work is done by machine. Must have some sewing experience and be comfortable with your machine. Machine required and should be capable of free-motion stitching.

Simply Abstract Landscape
1 day class
This is the same process used for the ‘Field’ series and the start of Ragged and Real. We build a landscape just with strips and leave it at that. Sunsets, fields, water views. It is almost too easy, yet so satisfying. The landscape is built with strips of fabric collaged and fused to a background, then straight stich quilted. No free motion involved. Machine required.

Simply Abstract Landscape - Short Version
1/2 day class
Student supply cost for kit $10.
We will be composing a collage of a small simple landscape similar to above ‘Simply Abstract Landscape’. We’ll talk about what abstract is and how to think abstractly and about the compositional components of a successful design. Expand your creativity with no quilting rules or rulers. It will be easy! No sewing in class. A ‘simple’ sunset, sunrise, ocean, field or undetermined. We will just wing it! Completing the landscape will be simple and fun. Similar to Simply Abstract Landscape but smaller version and no sewing in class. All materials provided except scissors and irons.
Seams to be Abstract
2 day class
This process is done by piecing, (no fusing) in an abstract manner with happy accidents. This class starts with a simple idea for subject matter, can be determined in class. Use of scrap materials in light, medium and dark hues. All work is done by machine. Must have some sewing experience and be comfortable with your machine. Not necessary to do free-motion stitching unless you prefer it.
